About Seminar Snapshots
A Seminar Snapshot captures the key learning points of a seminar presentation at The Poynter Institute or at another training event. A snapshot features edited video highlights and other materials offered during a seminar presentation.
Quality field reporting is a great start, but producing a compelling story requires more! Skillfully bringing it all together for your viewers is essential. Create a story where your viewers can experience the journey, whether it's spot news or a feature story. Learn to compose your work by incorporating essential editing practices like building layers, creating suspense and developing character.
This replay is from The Poynter Institute and the National Press Photographers Foundation's day-long event, Video Storytelling with the Pros, that was held on Oct. 15, 2011. It is one of four Seminar Snapshots available from the event. If you'd like to buy all four Seminar Snapshots, check out our Training Package.
What Will I Learn:
- Focus: Unless you’re looking for one, you’ll never find it
- Developing a character: Handshakes and details
- Layers: Macro and micro, ladders
- Surprises: Set up and shut up
- Crafting sentences like a fireworks show: End with a Boom!
Who should take this course:
